What inspectors found, December 2023

Rated Good; inspectors found safe, effective and well-led care, with Caring and Responsive not inspected this time.

This was an unannounced focused inspection on 9 November 2023. Two inspectors and an expert by experience spoke with people, relatives, staff and the manager. They also checked care, medicine, risk, staff and management records.

The home provides nursing and personal care for up to 30 people. There were 27 people living there, most with dementia. Inspectors found people were protected from abuse, medicines were managed safely, staffing and recruitment were suitable, and the environment was maintained.

The home was rated Good overall, with Safe, Effective and Well-led also rated Good. These ratings stayed the same as at the previous inspection in 2017. This inspection did not assess Caring or Responsive, so the overall rating was partly based on earlier ratings.

Or stay at home with a private carer

Many people who look at care homes end up staying at home with a carer who comes in for a few hours a day, or lives in. PrimeCarers introduces you to self-employed carers you choose yourself: interviewed, ID and DBS checked, from about £20 an hour or £1,120 a week live-in.
