What inspectors found, February 2024

Rated Good; inspectors found safe care and good oversight, while a permanent registered manager was still being recruited.

This was an unannounced inspection on 17 and 18 January 2024. One inspector and an Expert by Experience spoke with people, relatives, staff and managers. They reviewed care records, medicines records, recruitment files, training records, audits and other documents.

The home was rated Good overall. Safe and Well-led were both rated Good. Inspectors found that people were protected from abuse, risks were assessed, medicines were managed safely, staffing levels were sufficient and infection control was effective.

People and relatives described kind and respectful care. Care plans included important information about people's needs, and staff worked with other professionals when needed. The provider had systems for complaints, quality checks and learning from incidents.

There was no registered manager in post at the inspection. Area managers and a deputy manager had provided permanent management cover, and recruitment of a new registered manager was nearly complete.

Another option

Or stay at home with a private carer

Many people who look at care homes end up staying at home with a carer who comes in for a few hours a day, or lives in. PrimeCarers introduces you to self-employed carers you choose yourself: interviewed, ID and DBS checked, from about £20 an hour or £1,120 a week live-in.
