The Meadow was rated Good; inspectors found safe, kind and highly personalised care, with a focused inspection covering three areas.
Inspectors visited unannounced on 30 October 2023. They spoke with people, relatives and staff, observed activities and lunch, and checked care plans, medicines records, recruitment files and management records.
The home was rated Good for Safe, Responsive and Well-led. People and relatives said they felt safe. Inspectors found safe staffing and medicines systems, personalised care, meaningful activities, good end-of-life support and effective management checks.
This was a focused inspection. Effective and Caring were not inspected during this visit. The overall Good rating used the previous ratings for the questions that were not inspected. The last inspection was published in October 2017 and the overall rating was also Good.
People felt safe
People and relatives told inspectors they felt safe. Staff understood safeguarding and how to report concerns.

Personalised activities
The home offered varied activities linked to people's interests, wellbeing and relationships. These included exercise, music, reminiscence, creative activities and links with local groups.

End-of-life support
Care plans recorded people's wishes in detail. Staff worked with hospice and palliative care services and helped people receive dignified, personal support at the end of life.

Management had regular audits and followed up issues. Inspectors found a culture of learning and improvement.
