What inspectors found, November 2023

Ashwood House Limited (Leyton) was rated Good in all five areas; inspectors found safe, respectful and personalised care.

This was an unannounced inspection over three visits. One inspector reviewed care records, staff files, training, risk assessments, surveys, audits and other management records. They spoke with people using the service, relatives, staff and the registered manager.

The home supported 14 people at the time of the inspection and was registered for up to 17 adults with mental health needs. Inspectors found people were protected from abuse and avoidable harm, staffing was suitable, medicines were managed safely, and the home was clean and well maintained.

Inspectors found staff had the training and support needed for their roles. People were involved in their care, treated with kindness and respect, supported to develop independence, and helped to maintain relationships and access health services.

All five areas were rated Good: Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive and Well-led. This was the same overall rating as the previous inspection, published on 25 September 2017.
