The latest report, explained

What inspectors found, November 2023

Brighton and Hove Bethesda Home is rated Good; inspectors found safe, kind and personalised care, with some medicine records needing improvement.

This was an unannounced inspection on 12 and 16 October 2023. Inspectors spoke with people, relatives, staff and health professionals. They also reviewed care plans, medicine records, recruitment files and management records.

The home was clean and had enough trained staff. People said they felt safe, were treated with dignity and received care that respected their choices, faith and daily routines. Inspectors also found good links with health professionals and activities that helped people maintain relationships and interests.

All five areas were rated Good: Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive and Well-led. This means inspectors found the service consistently met people's needs and protected them from avoidable harm, although some smaller improvements were still needed.
