82 Bear Road is rated Good; inspectors found safe, kind and personalised care with strong support for choice and independence.
This was an unannounced inspection on 12 September 2023. Two inspectors spoke with all four people living there, staff and two relatives. They observed care and checked care records, staff records, medicines and management checks.
The home supported people with learning disabilities, including people with Prader Willi Syndrome. Inspectors found enough trained staff, safe medicines practice, suitable risk planning and a clean environment. People were supported to make choices, build independence, access healthcare and take part in activities they enjoyed.
All five areas were rated Good: safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led. The overall rating stayed Good, the same as at the previous inspection published on 22 August 2017. The inspection was carried out to check how the home applied the principles of right support, right care and right culture.
Choice and independence
People were supported to make decisions, develop skills and take more control of areas such as food, finances and medicines.

Inspectors saw friendly interactions and found that people had good relationships with staff and each other.
