What inspectors found, December 2023

Lytham Court Nursing Care Home is rated Good; inspectors found safe care, effective management and ongoing improvements.

This was an unannounced inspection. The inspector visited on 21 November 2023, spoke with four people, staff and the registered manager, observed care, checked the building and reviewed care, medicines, recruitment and management records.

The home was rated Good overall. Safe and Well-led were also rated Good. Inspectors found enough staff, safe medicines procedures, detailed risk assessments, safeguarding arrangements and infection control measures.

The home had systems to check quality and make improvements. People and families could give their views through surveys and meetings. Recent environmental improvements were taking place with minimum disruption.

  • Staffing and nursing cover

    Inspectors found enough staff with different skills, including nurses available throughout the day and night.

    Medicines were administered by trained nurses. Records, written guidance and audits were in place.
