The latest report, explained

What inspectors found, January 2024

Fieldhouse Care Home is rated Requires Improvement; inspectors found kind care, but unsafe medicines management and weak records created risks.

Inspectors visited without notice on four dates. They spoke with people, relatives, staff and managers, observed care, and checked medicines, care records, risk assessments, staff files and management records.

People were treated kindly and respectfully. There were enough staff, people said they felt safe, and staff supported healthcare needs, food choices, activities and independence. However, medicines were not always managed safely, records were incomplete or out of date, and infection control practices were inconsistent.

The home was rated Requires Improvement overall. Safe, Effective, Responsive and Well-led were all rated Requires Improvement. Caring was rated Good. The inspectors found breaches of Regulation 12 on safe care and treatment and Regulation 17 on good governance.
