What inspectors found, January 2024
Rated Good; inspectors found safe, person-centred care, with some records and checks needing improvement.
The home provides personal care for up to 20 older people. There were 17 people living there when inspectors visited. The inspection was unannounced and took place on 7 December 2023.
Inspectors spoke with people living in the home, a relative, a visitor and staff. They reviewed care plans, medicines records, recruitment files, training records, policies, audits and safety checks.
The home was rated Good for Safe and Well-led. People were protected from abuse, risks were managed, medicines were generally handled safely, and the home was clean. Staff were described as caring and person-centred, and people's views were used to improve the service.
Some improvements were needed. One recruitment file did not contain all the required checks, some medicines records needed more detail, and one area of health and safety checks needed closer oversight. The manager said action had been taken or would be taken.
