The latest report, explained

What inspectors found, February 2024

Church Farm Care Home was rated Inadequate and placed in special measures; inspectors found serious risks in care, staffing, medicines and management.

Inspectors visited unannounced on 31 October and 2 November 2023. They spoke with people, relatives and staff, observed care, and checked care, medicines, food, fluid, staffing and management records.

They found widespread problems across all five areas inspected. People were at risk because staffing levels, medicines, risk assessments, food and fluid monitoring, infection control and accident reporting were not managed safely. The home was also in poor condition, and people's privacy, dignity, choices and activities were not consistently respected.

The overall rating and all five question ratings were Inadequate. This means the inspectors found widespread and significant shortfalls, with people not safe and at risk of avoidable harm. The home was placed in special measures and CQC said it would continue to monitor progress.
