What inspectors found, November 2023
Beehive rated Good; inspectors found safe, kind and person-centred care across all five areas.
This was the first inspection since the home registered. It was unannounced and took place on 30 October 2023 and 7 November 2023. One inspector spoke with people, relatives, staff and the manager, observed care, and checked care plans, medicines, training and quality records.
Five people were living in the home at the time. Inspectors found enough staff, safe medicine systems, suitable risk assessments and effective infection control. Staff were trained and supported, and people could access health care, choose their food and take part in activities.
Inspectors found that staff were kind and respected people's privacy, dignity, choices and independence. Care plans were personalised and included people's communication needs, backgrounds, preferences and relationships.
All five areas were rated Good: Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive and Well-led. This means the inspectors found consistently good care and management at the time of this inspection. There was no earlier inspection rating because this was a newly registered service.
Safe care and medicines
Inspectors found risk assessments for areas including falls, skin problems, nutrition and self-harm. Medicines were audited and records showed they were given as prescribed.
“Medicine Administration Records (MARs) showed that medicines had been administered as prescribed.” from the report

“Care plans included peoples background history, their likes and dislikes, things that are important to them and how to keep them safe.” from the report
Good staff support and oversight
Staff had completed mandatory training and received regular supervision. The manager carried out monthly quality audits and gathered feedback from people and staff.
“Quality assurance systems were in place to ensure shortfalls could be identified and action taken to ensure people were safe at all times.” from the report
Inspectors raised no specific concerns in this report.

Or stay at home with a private carer
Many people who look at care homes end up staying at home with a carer who comes in for a few hours a day, or lives in. PrimeCarers introduces you to self-employed carers you choose yourself: interviewed, ID and DBS checked, from about £20 an hour or £1,120 a week live-in.
