Rated Good; inspectors found safe, kind care and strong management at Woodlea Care Home.
This was an unannounced focused inspection on 20 November 2023. One inspector and an Expert by Experience spoke with 8 people, 4 relatives and 6 staff. They also reviewed care, medicines, recruitment and management records, and watched how staff supported people.
The home was rated Good overall. Inspectors found that people were safe, treated kindly and involved in decisions about their care. They found enough staff, safe medicines systems, detailed care plans and a clean, well-maintained building.
Management was rated Good. Audits were used to find problems and action plans were put in place. People and relatives said they were happy with the care and found the manager and staff approachable.
This was a focused inspection of Safe, Caring and Well-led only. These three ratings remained Good. Effective and Responsive were not inspected, so the overall rating also used ratings from the previous inspection.
People felt safe
Risks were assessed and managed, care plans gave staff clear instructions, and people told inspectors they felt safe. There were enough staff to meet people's needs.
