What inspectors found, January 2024

The Troc Care Home is Rated Good; inspectors found safe, personalised care and strong management, while plans were under way to modernise the original building.

This was an unannounced focused inspection on 20 December 2023. One inspector and an Expert by Experience spoke with people, relatives and staff. They reviewed care records, medicine records, staff recruitment files and management records.

The inspectors looked only at Safe and Well-led during this visit. They found people were protected from abuse and avoidable harm, medicines were managed safely, infection risks were controlled and staff were safely recruited and trained.

People and relatives described kind, personalised care. The management team was seen as approachable and open to feedback. Both Safe and Well-led were rated Good. The other ratings, which were not inspected, carried over from the previous inspection in 2018, giving an overall rating of Good.
