What inspectors found, December 2023
Rated Good; inspectors found kind, person-centred care and strong leadership, with some records and staff supervision needing improvement.
This was an unannounced inspection over two days. One inspector visited the home, an expert-by-experience spoke to relatives, and inspectors spoke with staff. They also observed care and checked medication records and parts of two care plans.
The home supports up to 13 people with learning disabilities and complex needs. Inspectors found enough safely recruited staff, effective care, good support with food and health needs, and a positive culture. Relatives gave consistently positive feedback.
The home was clean, but some shared areas looked worn. Inspectors also found that some as-required medicine protocols needed more personal detail and that supervision for nurses and team leaders was behind schedule. The management team started work on these issues straight away.
The overall rating was Good. Safe, Effective and Well-led were each rated Good. Caring and Responsive were not inspected during this visit, so the report says ratings for key questions not inspected were carried over from the previous inspection.

Or stay at home with a private carer
Many people who look at care homes end up staying at home with a carer who comes in for a few hours a day, or lives in. PrimeCarers introduces you to self-employed carers you choose yourself: interviewed, ID and DBS checked, from about £20 an hour or £1,120 a week live-in.
