What inspectors found, November 2023

Rustington Convalescent Home is rated Good; inspectors found safe, caring support and strong management, with visits often held in the conservatory.

This was a focused inspection on 16 October 2023. Inspectors visited the home, spoke with people, relatives, staff and professionals, and reviewed care plans, risk assessments, medicines records, recruitment files and quality checks.

The home was rated Good overall. Safe and Well-led were both rated Good. Inspectors found enough staff, safe medicines systems, suitable risk assessments and effective safeguarding. People and relatives described staff as helpful, caring and friendly.

The inspection also found an open management culture, regular checks on care quality and good partnership working with health professionals. The overall rating stayed the same as at the previous inspection, published in August 2016. The other key questions were not inspected during this visit.
