The latest report, explained

What inspectors found, December 2023

Rated Good; inspectors found people were safe and happy, with a few records and training issues fixed during or soon after the inspection.

This was a focused inspection on 7 and 14 November 2023. Inspectors observed care, spoke with all 8 people, 5 relatives and 5 staff, and checked care, medicine and management records.

The home was rated Good for Safe and Well-led. People said they felt safe and were happy living there. Inspectors found enough suitable staff, safe medicine systems, good cleanliness and strong safeguarding awareness.

There were a few areas to improve. Some daily records lacked detail, body maps for creams were missing and staff had not completed recommended learning disability and autism training. The manager acted quickly, including completing the training before the inspection feedback session.

This was not a full inspection of all five areas. The overall Good rating also used the ratings from the previous comprehensive inspection in 2018 for the questions that were not inspected.

What inspectors were concerned about

  • Cream application records

    needs fixing

Although creams and ointments were recorded as given, body maps did not show where they should be applied. Body maps were put in place during the inspection.
