What inspectors found, February 2024

Rated Good; inspectors found safe care and strong management after checking concerns about incidents.

This was an unannounced, focused inspection on 25 October 2023. Two inspectors looked at safety and leadership because concerns had been received about how incidents were managed and reported. They spoke with people using the service, a relative, managers and care staff, and checked care, medicines, incident, recruitment and maintenance records.

The home was rated Good for Safe and Well-led. Inspectors found people were protected from abuse and avoidable harm. Risks were assessed, staffing levels were suitable, medicines were given safely, and incidents were reviewed so lessons could be learned.

Inspectors also found an open and person-centred culture. Managers were approachable, staff felt supported, and audits and feedback were used to improve care. The overall Good rating includes ratings from the previous comprehensive inspection for the three areas not examined this time.
