Rated Good; inspectors found safe, kind and well-managed care, with mixed views about activities.
The inspection was unannounced. Two inspectors and an Expert by Experience visited on 23 August 2023, with inspection work continuing until 4 September 2023. They spoke with people, relatives and staff, observed care, meals and medicines, looked around the home, and checked care, medicines, recruitment and management records.
All five areas were rated Good: Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive and Well-led. Inspectors found enough staff, safe medicines practice, good infection control, suitable staff training, kind care and regular checks on the quality and safety of the home.
People and relatives were generally very positive. Inspectors received mixed comments about activities, although they saw evidence of classes, music, games, trips and celebrations. Some bedroom furniture was old, but the home had an ongoing maintenance and refurbishment programme.
Safe staffing and medicines
Inspectors found enough staff to meet people's needs and found that medicines were managed, stored and given safely.

Kind and respectful care
People were treated warmly and staff supported their privacy, dignity and independence.
