What inspectors found, December 2023
Elm Tree Court - Care Home was rated Good; inspectors found safe care and good leadership, with some minor maintenance still needed.
The unannounced inspection took place on 28 November 2023. Inspectors spoke with 7 people, 10 relatives and 9 staff. They reviewed care records, medicines records, recruitment records and quality checks.
The home was rated Good for Safe and Well-led. Inspectors found safeguarding systems, risk assessments, medicines management, staffing and recruitment were effective. Staff understood how to report concerns and learn from accidents and incidents.
The home had a positive, person-centred culture. People and relatives spoke positively about the care. Infection prevention was managed well, although some areas needed decorating, replacement fixtures or minor repairs.
The previous overall rating was Good, published in April 2018. This report says the ratings for Safe and Well-led remained Good. The other three areas were not rated in this report.
Safeguarding and risk
Staff understood how to recognise and report abuse. Risk assessments and emergency evacuation plans gave staff information to support people safely.
