The latest report, explained

What inspectors found, January 2024

Rated Good; inspectors found kind, safe care, but medicines records and guidance needed improvement.

Inspectors made an unannounced visit on 28 November 2023. They spoke with 9 people, 7 relatives and 7 staff. They checked care plans, medicines records, recruitment files, audits, rotas and safety records.

The home was rated Good in all five areas: Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive and Well-led. People were described as safe, well cared for and supported by staff who knew their needs.

Inspectors found some problems with medicines documentation. There was no guidance for some medicines given when needed, and staff did not always record the time certain medicines were given. The manager addressed these concerns after the inspection, and CQC made a recommendation about improving records.

The previous provider's rating was Outstanding, published in July 2021. Caring, Responsive and Well-led changed from Outstanding to Good at this inspection.
