What inspectors found, January 2024

Rated Good overall; inspectors found safe, person-centred support, but oversight and care records required improvement.

This was a focused inspection after the home moved to new premises. One inspector visited on 21 November 2023, met the two people using the service, and spoke with relatives and staff. Inspectors reviewed care records, medicine records, staff files and management records.

The home was rated Good for Safe. Staff knew people well, there were enough staff, medicines were managed safely, and infection control arrangements were effective. People were supported to make choices, take part in activities and use the home and outdoor areas.

The home was rated Requires Improvement for Well-led. Inspectors could not find reliable evidence of provider quality checks. Some care plans were not up to date, and care plan reviews and other checks were not always recorded. The overall rating was Good, but the other key question ratings were carried over because this inspection only looked at Safe and Well-led.
