What inspectors found, January 2024

Rated Good; inspectors found safe, caring and well-managed care, with some communal areas needing redecoration.

This was an unannounced, focused inspection on 7 December 2023. Inspectors reviewed information about the home, spoke with people, relatives and staff, observed care, and checked care, medicines, recruitment and management records.

The home was rated Good for Safe and Well-led. Inspectors found that risks were assessed and reviewed, medicines were managed safely, staffing levels met people's needs, and staff were safely recruited and trained.

People and relatives described kind, respectful care and good communication. The inspection did not assess Effective, Caring or Responsive. Those ratings were carried over from the previous inspection in 2018 when the overall rating was also Good.

    Risks were assessed and care plans were updated when people's needs changed. Staff understood how to support people with risks such as falls, mobility, eating and diabetes.
