What inspectors found, December 2023

Rated Good; inspectors found safe, kind and personalised care, although relatives felt the home could be more homely.

This was the first inspection since the service was newly registered. It was unannounced and took place on 20 and 28 September 2023. One inspector spoke with people living at the home, relatives, staff, the registered manager and provider, and reviewed care, medicine, recruitment and management records.

All five areas were rated Good: Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive and Well-led. Inspectors found enough staff, safe medicine systems, suitable risk checks, good infection control and appropriate staff training.

People and relatives said staff were kind, respectful and supportive. Care was planned around individual needs, people were offered choices, families were involved, and people could take part in activities and maintain relationships.

Relatives said the home could be more homely. The provider and registered manager said redecorating was part of a longer-term plan. No breaches of regulations or enforcement action were reported.
