What inspectors found, February 2024
Rated Good; inspectors found safe, kind care, but noted fire safety work, some training gaps and incomplete medicine temperature records.
This was an unannounced inspection. Inspectors visited on 13 and 18 December 2023, spoke with people, relatives and staff, observed care, checked medicines and reviewed care, recruitment, safety and management records.
The home was rated Good overall. Safe and Well-led were both rated Good. Inspectors found people were protected from abuse, risks were assessed, medicines were managed safely and staffing was sufficient. The home was clean and equipment was maintained.
People and relatives spoke positively about staff and said the home responded to concerns. Inspectors also found the home worked with health professionals and used incidents to improve care.
This inspection only assessed Safe and Well-led. The other three ratings were carried forward from the previous inspection. The overall rating remained Good, as it was at the last inspection published in December 2020.

Safeguarding training
needs fixingA small number of staff had not refreshed their safeguarding training in line with the provider's policy. Staff spoken to still understood how to identify and report concerns.

Fire safety work
seriousThe local fire and rescue service had identified remedial work needed to meet guidance and best practice. Extra staff had been arranged to help with evacuation until the work was completed.

Or stay at home with a private carer
Many people who look at care homes end up staying at home with a carer who comes in for a few hours a day, or lives in. PrimeCarers introduces you to self-employed carers you choose yourself: interviewed, ID and DBS checked, from about £20 an hour or £1,120 a week live-in.
